Biography
Shadi Khattab is a healthcare executive, entrepreneur, and community leader dedicated to advancing compassionate healthcare and meaningful civic engagement throughout the Sacramento region. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from California State University, Sacramento, in 2018.
Originally from Damascus, Syria, Shadi immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of five. His personal journey has instilled a deep appreciation for opportunity, resilience, and public service.
In 2023, Shadi founded American Prime Healthcare with the mission of providing compassionate, dignified hospice care to patients and families throughout the Sacramento community. Guided by a commitment to excellence and service, the organization strives to enhance the quality of life for patients while supporting families during life's most challenging moments.
Experience
From 2018 to the present, Shadi has held executive leadership positions across multiple organizations, where he has developed extensive expertise in business operations, strategic growth, organizational leadership, business development, and organizational performance. His leadership has focused on building high-performing organizations that prioritize innovation, sustainable growth, and long-term success.
Beyond healthcare, Shadi has been an active advocate for humanitarian causes and community engagement. During the Syrian humanitarian crisis that began in 2012, he served as a Director for the Sacramento Chapter of the Syrian American Council, where he lobbied members of the United States Congress to advocate for humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees and to support the Syrian people's pursuit of democracy and human rights. In 2013 and 2014, he also helped organize the Walk 4 the Children of Syria and Global March for the Children of Syria campaigns, coordinating advocacy efforts across more than 30 countries to raise global awareness and support for Syrian child refugees affected by the war. In 2023, he also helped lead fundraising efforts for earthquake relief benefiting the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS), supporting emergency medical care for victims affected by the devastating earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye.
Shadi has also championed numerous charitable initiatives and causes throughout the Sacramento region, supporting organizations including Sacramento Food Bank, My Sister's House, FosterHope Sacramento, Shriners Children's Northern California, CCAPP, Sacramento Street Medicine, End of Watch Fund, the American Cancer Society Sacramento, NAMI Sacramento, and many others. His commitment to community service reflects his belief that lasting leadership extends beyond business and into meaningful civic impact.
For his contributions to entrepreneurship and community service, Shadi has been recognized by numerous regional publications and media outlets, including Comstock's Magazine, Sacramento Magazine, Sacramento State Magazine, Inside Sacramento, ABC10, FOX40, Sactown Magazine, The State Hornet, and California State University, Sacramento's Global Entrepreneurship Week #MadeAtSacState campaign.
